VARIEGATED ARABIAN LILAC
Vitex trifolia variegata is a member of the Lamiaceae family and is native to East Africa.
It is a very fast growing evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub or small tree to 3 – 4 metres tall by as wide with green upper and purple under colored leaves. It is evergreen with a peppery fragrant leaves when crushed.
It can defoliate if in a frost but regenerates quickly. It likes full sun but does well in partial sun. It likes occasional watering but is generally drought tolerant
The flowers appear in summer & winter and are panicles about 250mm long and lavender coloured.
It can be used as great hedge or a small windbreak shrub/tree and is bird and bee attracting.
