THE BLACK HOYA
Hoya ciliata is a member of the Apocynaceae family and a member of the Eriostemma species.
It is one of the Hoya that like warmer conditions with some humidity. The flowers are around 25 – 50mm and maroon to almost black with a yellow corona, colour hence the name “The Black Hoya”. The fragrance is said be the smell of “Peanut Butter”.
The leaves are a paler /soft green with “hairy/ fuzzy” appearance. It will grow to around 2 metres with a twining habit. It likes full sun to partial shade.
