Phymosia umbellata or Mexican Bush Mallow is a member of the Malvaceae family and is native to Mexico.
It is a rare and cultivated as an ornamental shrub. It grows to around 2.5 metres x 2 metres in full sun to part shade. It will tolerate a light frost
The flowers are Chinese Lantern like (Abutilon) with large heads of deep red flowers that are around 80mm across. The leaves are of a similar shape to Grape vine.
This is a rare plant in Australia and is a tough plant for most areas.
