HOYA POTTSII
cv. KURANDA CREEK IML 0039
Hoya pottsii is a member of the Apocynaceae family and is native to Australia.
There are a number of Hoya pottsii species and this one is H.cv. Kuranda Creek and is named after the place it was discovered.
The flowers can vary in colour but are mostly yellow with an orange corona, 10 mm across and are in clusters of 25 in each umbel.
It is a much sought after Hoya for its attractive foliage that turns deep claret colouring the more sunlight it is exposed too.
INDOORS; Most Hoya are well suited to hanging baskets or ladders and can be grown indoors under pot culture in a warm position but flowering is sometimes difficult.
PLANTING; Dig the hole twice the size of the pot and plant level with the surrounding soil. Mounding can help with wetter soils. The vine will enjoy most soil types but prefers well drained gravelly soils, moist but not wet, warm but frost free above 4 degrees C. Mulch well to conserve water.
CARE; Prune after flowering but don’t cut off flower buds as flowers appear each year on the same bud. Fertilise during growing period and withdraw water in the colder months.
ENJOY THIS GREAT AUSSIE HOYA!
