Clerodendrum schmidtii is a member of the Lamiaceae family and is a native of Asia.
This Clerodendrum is a rare species and is an elegant plant overall it flowers in winter and puts on a spectacular display with cascading white flowers. The racemes hang around 300 – 450 mm and has 2 flowering periods during the winter often.
It differs from Clerodendrum wallichii (Bridal Veil) stems are shorter and all green C. schmidtii has dark red flower stalks and they are much longer.
It is drought tolerant and likes to be in full sun to partial shade. It grows to around a metre x 1.2 metres and is attractive to bees, butterflies and birds.
