Ceropegia radicans subsp. smithii is a member of the Asclepiadaceae family is from Southern Africa ranging from Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana.
Some of the common names are String of Hearts and Chain of Hearts. It is a rarer form C. radicans.
This is a delicate vine that has heart shaped leaves. The stems can grow to around 2 metres bearing small bell-shaped pink flowers in clusters.
It was said to be traditionally used for medicinal purposes to help treat digestive issues.
It has also become a popular ornamental plant where it is grown indoors as well as outdoors in warmer climates with its beautiful appearance.
It likes bright light but indirect sunlight.
