‘ALICE DU PONT’
Mandevilla x amabile cultivar ‘Alice Du Pont’ is native to Southern Brazil and is a member of the Apocynaceae family.
It is still one of the most popular of the Mandevilla species. Its flowers are large pink 75mm and trumpet shaped, and they are enjoyed worldwide.
It can climb to around 3-3.5 metres and has glossy green quilted leaves that are evergreen in warmer areas. It needs to be over-wintered using little water, cutting to a manageable size and then re-fertilised at the start of the growing season.
Grow it in full sun or sun to part shade for the best results, it is frost tender.
