INDIAN ROPE

Hoya carnosa compacta is a mutation of Hoya carnosa and the flower has only a small quantity of compaction. It is a native of Eastern Asia.
The leaves form cup like shapes and they twist and contort into odd shapes giving each vine a rope-like appearance.
The star shaped pink flowers have red- cerise calyx. The flowers have a sweet fragrance that is strongest in the cool night air.
It is well suited to use as a house plant and manage to adapt too many different indoor environments. It is absolutely well suited to hanging baskets and can be grown indoors under pot culture in a warm position but flowering is sometimes difficult.

Prune after flowering but don’t cut off flower buds as flowers appear each year on them. Fertilise during growing period and withdraw water in the colder months.
