JAPANESE HONEYSUCKLE
The Japanese Honeysuckle is a vigorous, heat-tolerant, and almost indestructible vine that is suited to a variety of applications. It can be grown as a groundcover or planted on banks for erosion control. It also grows quickly on a trellis, fence, or other constructed framework, providing a fast wind screen or source of shade.
The vine flowers in spring and spot flowers year round. It’s easy to grow and nearly indestructible. The fragrant flowers will attract birds, bees and butterflies.
It will grow in full sun or dappled shade and is frost and drought tolerant it is also good for seaside plantings. It originates from Japan and China. The flowers are creamy white to yellow and the nectar is sweet to the taste.
It can be semi deciduous in colder areas and can be pruned to form a shrub.
